The iconic Golden Gate Bridge is among the most recognizable and photographed bridge in the world. Named one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Golden Gate stretches a mile where San Francisco Bay meets the Pacific Ocean. The bridge is popular with walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and motorists alike but bring a jacket-it can be surprisingly cool.

Gold Rush-era Victorians throughout San Francisco complement the towering skyscrapers of downtown’s financial district, the still-active fishing wharfs along the bay, and parks and playgrounds woven throughout the city. For history, architecture, food, culture, and fun, San Francisco offers an unbeatable experience for first-time and returning tourists alike.

Take a ride on San Francisco’s famous cable cars! Three lines connecting Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, and California Street offer unique transportation to points of interest. Some seven million people ride the cable cars each year, making them one of the most popular attractions in the Bay Area. Hold on tight for the ride of your life!

Alcatraz is a small island that has been a fort, a military prison, and a federal penitentiary-it even housed the America’s most famous gangster, Al Capone. Stroll the prison grounds while listening to the audio tour, and see how a few convicts were able to escape the prison walls. Did they make it through the icy, swift currents?

Located in Google Headquarters, Google Visitor Experience was built to connect local community, visitors and Googlers. Located next Google Visitor Experience, Plaza features six interactive artworks from Rockspinner to life size Go game.

Visit famous Lombard Street, the curviest street in the world! The climb is steep, so get a quick-cappuccino for energy in Italian North Beach below. Then hike straight up Lombard, as the houses get more and more expensive with every block. You’ll be rewarded at the peak by the street’s fame cuves, beautiful flowers, and photographers galore.
